Tooth Extractions

Tooth extractions, including emergency extractions, might be necessary to maintain your oral health. At Pine Ridge Dental, we strive to make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible, ensuring a swift recovery.

Tooth Extraction in The Dalles, Oregon

Tooth extraction involves removing a tooth from its socket in the bone. While preserving your natural teeth is always our goal, there are situations where extraction is the best option for your health. Our team strives to perform extractions efficiently and with minimal discomfort.

We use anesthesia to ensure your comfort and offer nitrous sedation and minimal conscious sedation options for a more relaxed experience. Following our post-extraction care instructions will help ensure a quick and easy recovery.

Replacing an Extracted Tooth

After extracting a tooth, we can replace it. A dental bone graft reinforces the jawbone so it can support a dental implant. Once the graft has integrated and healed, Dr. Fuller places the dental implant and tops it with a custom-made dental crown, resulting in a restoration that looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.

  • How much does a tooth extraction cost?

The cost of a tooth extraction can vary depending on the complexity of the procedure and whether sedation is used. We provide detailed cost estimates during your consultation and offer financing options to make the treatment affordable.

  • How much is an emergency tooth extraction?

Emergency tooth extractions may have additional costs due to the urgent nature of the procedure. We prioritize your immediate needs and work to relieve pain quickly, providing cost details and financing options during your visit. You can also check with your insurance provider to determine what emergency costs are covered under your plan.

  • Does tooth extraction hurt?

With anesthesia and sedation techniques that we offer, tooth extractions are generally painless. Our team will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to minimize any post-extraction discomfort.

  • What can I eat after a tooth extraction?

After a tooth extraction, it is best to consume soft and cool foods to avoid disturbing the extraction site. Suitable options include:

    • Applesauce
    • Yogurt
    • Smoothies (avoid using a straw)
    • Mashed potatoes
    • Soups (cool to lukewarm)
    • Pudding

Staying hydrated is important, but avoid using straws, drinking carbonated beverages, and consuming hot liquids to ensure proper healing.
